Zambia Strengthening Climate Resilience Project (PPCR Phase II)
The Zambia Strengthening Climate Resilience Project (PPCR Phase II) is designed to support the pillar of Zambia’s National Climate Change Program by ensuring that the country makes climate change a core part of its economic development.
The development objective of the PPCR Project is to strengthen Zambia’s institutional framework for climate resilience and improve the adaptive capacity of vulnerable communities in the Barotse and Kafue sub-basins.
The PPCR has 2 flagship projects namely the Strengthening Climate Resilience Kafue Sub-Basin (SCRiKA) Project and the Strengthening Climate Resilience Barotse Sub-Basin (SCReBs) Project. The other component of the PPCR is a project dealing with strengthening codes and standard for engineering of infrastructure in the country.
The PPCR comprise of a National Project Implementation Unit (NPIU) whose mandate is to coordinate project activities in the 2 Project Implementation Units for SCRiKA and SCReBs Projects. The PPCR is being piloted in 28 districts in Western, Southern, Central, and Lusaka Provinces.
The PPCR Project is under the Directorate of Development Planning at the Ministry of National Development Planning
