National Designated Authority (NDA) for the Green Climate Fund
The National Designated Authority for the Green Climate Fund was established in August, 2015, in conformity with Governing Instruction and falls under the Development Planning Department in the Ministry of National Development Planning.
The Project coordinates all climate change programming and financing to ensure that the projects and programmes are within the development priorities for Zambia. It recommends climate change projects and plans to the Green Climate Fund Board and other finances, funding proposals in the context of national priorities.
The aim of the Zambian NDA project office is to be an efficient and transparent link between Zambia and the GCF, communicate the strategic oversight of GCF’s activities at country level, and communicate and promote country priorities as reflected in National Development Plans. The NDA functions through a National NDA Technical Committee established by Secretary to Cabinet. The National Coordinator heads the NDA Project Office and is the National Focal Point Person.
